Open to the public. Vocalist Sherry Roberson pays tribute to the legends of jazz and gospel performers. Jazz enthusiasts will recall great jazz clubs that featured some of the most sought-after singers of that time, such as Ella Fitzgerald. Gospel fans will recognize the style of gospel singer Mahalia Jackson. The band is directed by Lenny King, creator and former leader of the Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. The program will include entertaining music from The Great American Songbook, from the 40s to the 80s. A $10 donation per person is suggested but not required. Program details to be announced. The AZ Swing Kings is a 19-piece big band including a vocalist. The group consists of professional all-star musicians who play the authentic sounds of the famous bands who represented the swing and jazz eras. The band is directed by Jim Lee. The Swing Kings are available to provide music for shows, dances, and entertainment for public and private events. Now accepting dates in 2024, and 2025.
