Mar 3 – Dan Reed with Desert Brass _ at Willowbrook United Methodist Church

Organized in 1997 as the Renaissance Brass, the Desert Brass has since become one of the Phoenix West Valley’s premier musical organizations. The Brass Band dates back to the early nineteenth century and quickly grew to over 750 brass bands in England alone. Currently, brass bands in Great Britain number in the thousands. Within the last thirty years, brass bands in America have grown to several hundred.

Our Story

From its inception, April 18, 1976, Willowbrook Church has been blessed by God. That Easter Sunday morning thirty-seven people joined Rev. Albert J. Wilson for its first worship service. The church was officially constituted on May 16, 1976. The next year two hundred and fifty members voted to construct the church at its current location. Those founding members adopted a faith statement: “Expect a Miracle.”

Their Christian faith, desire for a close caring fellowship, and dedication to local and global needs created a warm welcoming congregation. That heritage remains today. Willowbrook continues to be a strong Christ centered Church. We are a mission-oriented church, offering opportunities to become involved in many programs that benefit both our neighborhood and our world.
